Operations
NWAX has two engineers on staff with additional support available from OHSU, PSU and the Pittock Block. See the NWAX Customer Operations Document for detailed technical information on NWAX architecture, service offerings, support procedures and member requirements, including outage reporting and Service Level Agreement.
Maintenance Process
On occasion we will need to do equipment maintenance and update code and configurations, which will impact availability of service. When needed, maintenance will occur on Sunday from 1:00 AM - 5:00 AM. Planned outages will be announced at least 72 hours in advance. In the event of unplanned outages, we will notify members as appropriate and work quickly to solve any problems.
Dual connected participants will have substantially better uptime because we will not generally work on all of the equipment simultaneously. In addition, we will take care to ensure minimal outages. Even members with a single connection to the building will benefit from dual connections to the Exchange because the Exchange will be able to perform maintenance generally without impacting the members connections.
