How to Get Connected
To become a member of the Northwest Access Exchange, follow these steps:
- Identify circuit(s) between your site(s) and the Exchange location and/or co-location arrangements.
- Determine cross connect requirements (may require a fee to the host data center).
- Determine the type of physical interface(s) you need.
- Download and fill out the member agreement, especially the first and last pages. If connecting via third party, also have them complete the last page. E-mail a copy to Don Westlight. He will verify NWAX details and pricing and return for signature.
- Print and sign two originals of the agreement. Mail or deliver them to our administrative office at 921 SW Washington St., Suite 320, Portland, OR. You will receive one original with all signatures for your files.
- Implement your circuit(s) and co-location arrangements.
- Connect to the Exchange demarcation point. Notify the NWAX.net engineers that this has been completed. NWAX engineers will complete connection to the Exchange and notify you when this is done.
- Verify connectivity (using ping).
- Execute Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), and network interconnect agreements with other members of the Exchange, if applicable.
We will assist you at every step to ensure a quick and easy process. If you have any questions please call or e-mail Don Westlight, (504) 494-3720
