Meet the Exchange Staff

The Northwest Access Exchange is fully staffed with highly experienced engineers to ensure reliable performance.

Don Westlight is the lead engineer and engineering manager for the exchange as well as the Portland Research and Education Network (PREN). Don is the former network engineer for Oregon Graduate Institute with nearly ten years network engineering experience.

Tim Rand is the primary network engineer for exchange. His experience covers a broad spectrum of communications engineering, ranging from Satellite Communication System design to Network Engineering. He holds Cisco CCNP and CCNA certifications. He received his Masters in Electrical Engineering in 1987, and a Post Graduate Degree in Network Engineering in 1996 - both from Johns Hopkins University.
